"In Singing, Confidence is Key"

Many voice coaches focus their attention on techniques. Through our intense research and course evaluation, we found very few that teach techniques both for singing, and performance mentality.

Per Bristow, a professional singer, knows the traditional vocal techniques are crucial, but he's very passionate about boosting your confidence as a singer too, which helps more than anything.

We believe "Sing With Freedom" is a fantastic program with a unique set of lessons. Here's what it comes with:

  • 4 DVDs
  • Workbooks
  • Article & Audio Library
  • Expert Interviews
  • Community Support Forum
  • Performance Analysis Videos
  • Ear Training Course
  • Rhythm Training Course
  • Sight Reading Course

The amount of content included with Sing With Freedom is incredible considering it's one of the lower-priced DVD courses!

Couple that with a unique teaching style and great support, and this course is well worth a look:

Pros: Sing With Freedom

We rated Sing With Freedom 4.5 stars, and here's what we liked most about it:

  1. DVDs: Video singing lessons work really well, and the 4 DVDs that come with Bristow's course are no exception. He included an incredible amount of content on these DVDs, making it feel more like in-person lessons.

  2. Downloads: Unlike other programs, you can download the first lesson set to get started right away while they ship the course to your house! If you prefer, you can save $40 by downloading the entire system too.

  3. Passionate teacher: Per Bristow has been teaching people to sing for over 15 years, and he has an awesome passion for helping people increase their confidence while singing in front of a crowd.

  4. Styles: Mixing up the techniques & genres taught is crucial for true improvement (and enjoyment), especially for a home study course, and fortunately Sing With Freedom does this quite well.

  5. Price: Bristow includes more content than other popular courses for $20-$50 less, which is fantastic. On top of that, you can download the entire system to your computer for a $40 discount compared to the shipped version.

  6. Free Bonuses: In addition to the core sections, bonuses such as a Ear Training, Sight Reading and Rhythm Training are all included for free. Also, a 30-day free trial to "The Singing Zone" was recently added as a bonus.

Cons: Sing With Freedom

Here are the things we believe we could be improved:

  1. Bonus Organization: The bonus courses mentioned above ("Free Bonuses") are not organized in the same way as the 4 DVDs, and we wish they were. Though it's minor, consistency would be a little more helpful.

  2. Production Value: Sing With Freedom is a lot nicer than the average home singing lessons we've found, but it could still be produced at a slightly-higher quality level.

  3. Inspiration: Some intermediate singers might feel that Per focuses too much on motivation and confidence, which takes away from the fundamental teaching. We disagree, and find that confidence-building makes everything easier.

  4. Singing Zone price: The initial price is great, and one of the bonuses is a 30-day free trial to "The Singing Zone", a very helpful frequently-updated online community. The only downside is that it's $47/month to remain a member.

All things considered, Sing With Freedom is one of the best courses available in this price range, especially considering the caliber of the instructor and the quality of the content.

User Reviews of Per Bristow's "Sing With Freedom"

5 stars "It's Phenomenal."
By Amber on December 4th, 2009.

"Yes, it's phenomenal. The thing is that one can't really explain an exercise in writing. The point of the program is that he leads you through exercises that make you feel what is going on with your voice. It makes you feel how to relax various areas, such as tongue, neck, jaw and then the sound becomes much freer and stronger, and the breathing becomes much easier also.

It's also very different to other programs because you watch videos rather than listen to CD and you see what he is doing and you do the stuff with him. It's kinda fun since he is quite funny also. You also become much more confident and that of course has a big impact on the sound.

Another benefit is that he gives you tons of ear training and music theory lessons as part of all the stuff that is inside The Singing Zone (http://www.TheSingingZone.com), so it's a pretty solid singing and music education in my opinion."

4.5 stars "...it's done wonders for my singing."

Sing With Freedom comes with 4 helpful DVDs, 3 bonus courses covering sight reading, rhythm, and pitch training. Per Bristow is a sensational singing coach, and pays great attention to building confidence in your voice.
